For an exceptional Salon, Courtepointe Quebec Quilts
wanted the raffle quilt to be exceptional. "Lys en f�te" is the
teamwork result of four impassioned quilters: Louise Picard, Lorraine
Jourdain, Lynda Demers, and Patricia Del Moral.
"Lys en f�te" was designed by Louise Picard and pieced by Lorraine Jourdain with beautiful fabrics donated by Lynda Demers,
owner of the boutique " Id�es de Soie ". The quilting and trapunto were exquisitely
done by Louise Picard on a Gammill longarm machine. Finally, beading by Patricia Del Moral added a magical touch.
"Lys en f�te" mesures 84" X 99" (213 cm X 251 cm) and
fits a queen size bed. There are 1,398 pieces in this quilt, and more than 200 hours were needed to execute it.
Trapunto style was used for the flowers and all the feathers in the border
and the plain blocks. This quilt was evaluated at 2,789 $CND by Diane
Shink, accredited and experienced appraiser.
Tickets are $2 each and can be purchased at the Salon 2006 on June 1, 2,
3, and 4. The quilt will be raffled on June 4th, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. at
Coll�ge Champlain, 900 Riverside Drive, Saint-Lambert Quebec.
